There has to be a punctuation mark before beginning a quote, ":" is a punctuation mark, there wasn't a problem there, say "said" twice in a row is quite a common typo, quit being so petty.

There was one grammar mistake and it's quite an easy one to make, hardly atrocious, hell, it wouldn't even be atrocious if it was just three.
