At a certain point ignorance can only be harmful and ignorant people learn best through pain, so hitting someone when they are painfully wrong teaches them to not say that again, so at least you don't have to hear their stupidity. Best case scenario they learn. Worst case they shoot up an elementary school. Risk Vs. Reward.
