>With friends playing D&D 4e for the first time
>I roll up a Warlord, my friends are Ranger, Rogue and Cleric
>Rogue tries to shoot an arrow through a flaming brazier, which would kill the Hex Goblin attacking us
>Rolls 1, arrow gets caught in his bowstring and he trips and burns himself
>Next up is Ranger's turn
>Tries to attack an unconscious Goblin. Has enough hit and damage that as long as he doesn't roll one, it's a guaranteed hit and kill
>Rolls 1, her arrow falls into a crack in the floor before she can fire it
>Goblin wakes up
>My turn, standing right behind the Goblin.
>Decide to just attack it to finish it.
>Guard Drake behind me.
>Roll 1, my sword misses and gets stuck in the wall
>Guard Drake saunters up and chews on my ass
And that was basically our first D&D experience.
