He asked why we needed to learn things if we die anyways.
I answered, "So that when we die, we die knowing things that will get us remembered instead of dying not knowing a thing, easily being forgotten.
One of his dumb friends (a girl) replied that we all die. Why would you be happy about college?
I simply replied, "Why would I be happy I went to college? Imagine this. You live in a home your whole life, refusing to learn anything. You try to live your life the best you can, but you never leave, never meeting new people nor being able to answer your own questions. Why is the sky blue? Why do I cry when I'm sad? How do magnets work? All of this is learned and absorbed by our minds wether we like it or not. I haven't been to college yet, but when I become a famous engineer and invent something people for generations will use, I'll sit back and smile at my life while the ones who refused to learn, still try to figure out why the sky is blue."
