technically you can. think about it. if you divide by a small number you get a significantly larger number so 5/.001 its the same as 5*1000. basically forgetting about negatives because they only would switch the sign of the output, the smaller the value you are dividing by the larger the output. so it makes sense that if you divide by the very smallest value possible you should get the largest value possible, infinity. the problem is infinity is not a number but rather a concept. but any number to the power of zero is one. even though infinity isn't a number you can think of it as that no matter how big of a number you substitute as you approach infinity you will always get 1
