A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the cab driver a question, tapping the driver's shoulder first to get his attention. The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, ran up a curb, and finally stopped, just inches away from a large plate glass window.
For a few moments, everything was silent in the cab, and the driver, still shaking, said "I'm sorry, but you scared the daylights out of me."
The passenger, scared from the near accident, apologized to the driver, stating he did not realize a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten a grown man so badly.
The driver replied, "No, no, I'm sorry. It's entirely my fault. Today is my first day driving a cab, I have been driving hearses for the last 25 years."
