In Beauty In The Beast, when the villagers all ran back home, did they tell everyone that they didn't kill the beast, that Gaston (The leader of the villagers) was now dead because of the beast, and not to mention the fact that they all got their asses handed to them by furniture? I mean, before they left they were talking about how evil the beast was, and now that Gaston was dead at the hands of the beast, wouldn't that only scare the village even more? Now they have proof that he's a heartless killer. Maybe they all just lied and said they killed him considering that getting beaten up by furniture isn't exactly something to be proud of.
