The earth doesnt produce enough light to be seen from the edge of the universe, actually the earth doesnt "Produce" any light at all. Our electronics produce light but its not enough to be seen from that far away, keep in mind that there are some stars that we cant see no matter how bright they are simply because they are THAT far away. Also, youd die before you got to the edge of the universe even if you were traveling at light speed. On top of that, youd travel at the speed of the light that you left at. so youd see right after you left, not the past.

oh and btw

You wouldn't have to travel at all, you would just need to be able to send an observing device to and fro. And I said if faster-than-light speed or space warping were possible. Also, perhaps better technology can pick-up all photons that are emitted by Earth despite the distance? I mean I'm speaking thousands of years from now...and hell, it doesn't even have to be humans. It could be extra-terrestrial beings observing you. Theoretically.

alright, fair enough. So when they send a satellite observing device thing out to the edge of the universe and it takes like 1000 years to get there, our technology would be so advanced by then we wouldnt be able to recieve the data. It would be like trying to open a word 2003 document with the computer chip implanted inside your mind. By then no one woulld give a ****. and if it is extra terrestrials then **** man, were probly going to be dead. So hey in 100000 years when we finally come up with this technology, cuz otherwise we will have no idea that it exists, the sun will have exploded, turned into a black hole, sucked up the solar system and **** out ur photons. so yeah ur kinda right, cept it wont ever happen.

aww no be sad
IF faster than light travel was in fact possible then you could travel to the edge of the universe before your death (tho it would have to be really ******* fast)
IF you were at the edge of the universe then yes you would be catching x year old light
HOWEVER just because the light is old, does not mean the actions are. hence you cant see the past just light from the past
kinda like how the light from the sun is 7 minutes old when it reaches the earth :3
