On the Foo Fighter's first album, he re-recorded all the guitar and drum parts because he was afraid it wasn't going to be good enough. The man plays drums, guitar, and sings (he probably plays bass too, but I don't know).

Actually the first album was only himself there were no other he later recruited Nate Mendel as Base William Goldsmith on Drums and Pat Smear for lead Guitar, mainly for playing shows and things continued from there.

Maybe it was the second album... I don't remember, I watched their documentary awhile back.

yes on the second album Dave redid all the drums but he still wanted William to play drums live he just didn't like how he played while recording, it was the main reason why he quit.

I personally give nickelback a little more credit becasue at least they make real music and do have talent, whereas lil wayne just talks into an autotune

I don't know if you even like Pantera and/or heavy metal, but as long as the best guitarist in the world (my opinion) plays a song with a band, that band can't suck (again,my opinion).

I mentioned the song Hero because I liked Spider-man and probably other people on FJ liked it too so I thought it was worth mentioning.

And if you say that it doesn't matter if Vinnie Paul asked them to do a song for Dimebag, then read my last sentence... If you are in one of the greatest metal bands, you don't ask someone that can't do a fucking song to make something about your dead brother.

It's not like I'm a die hard fan, I just don't mind if they come on the radio, I can hum along to a few songs... It's just another rock band.. So what... Not like they have anything on something like Foo Fighters sure, but they aren't so bad I want to kill myself >.>

the reason i dont like them is because theyre so unoriginal, they have the same songwriter as about 5 different other bands have done nothing innovative whatsoever.

So why not rip on the other five bands? I don't care about originality in music, if it sounds good to me then I call it good music, that's what music is about.

I'm in a long distance relationship, and my anniversary with this girl is in 5 days, and I often find that when I'm feeling bad about it, or feel like it's getting too hard, I can always throw on a song from All the Right Reasons, and I generally start feeling better. So, I'm prepared for the wave of red, but Nickelback really helped save my relationship.

Nickleback has some good stuff yeah, a few from Dark Horse that were well good I thought so they are keeping it up. I'm happy to have found that I am not alone in this world at least :D

Definitely agreed, both Dark Horse, and Here and Now, had a couple of songs that were definitely designed for the radio, as sort of publicity, but even that stuff is pretty good. Compared to the "made-for-radio" stuff, people have to admit that the rest of the albums are even better

A few of their songs really spark up my nostalgia machine, as I had a sony walkman as a kid with just a few songs on it that my brother had compiled for me, and there were a few Nickleback songs on there..

As much as I'd like to avoid the red thumbs, I can't help but disagree. I'm not saying I'm a massive fan, but upon listening to most of their songs, I've heard many bands with much less varied music.

I don't disagree with you, there are definitely worse bands. It's still confusing why Nickelback in particular garner so much of that negative attention, but I mean thematically, most of their songs are the same. They're all about partying, sex and drinking. There's just no depth to them.

When Lil Wayne has a meaningful song it's cause he means it, at least it seems that way.

I would attribute a majority of his fame to marketing honestly. I'd say most (not all) of rap is popular that way. That's why I don't listen to it. And Lil Wayne is no exception.

Of course you do, I agree with that. But when I saw him wearing a guitar around his neck not even touching it, it seems to me like he's mocking the rest of the music industry. We all know rap doesn't really use guitars, so for him to wear it like that, while using autotune, really rustled my jimmies. That just seems immature and stupid.
Plus in the rap industry, I feel like there are a lot more artists that get involved to make a quick buck then fall off the face of the earth never to be heard of again. Each genre has artists like that, but rap has the most I'd say. That annoys me too.
Plus Wayne's whole image I just find annoying.

Well to be fair, a lot of Nickelback songs reflect Chad Kroeger's life. So I'd say that quite a few songs were written with a lot of thought and care. And they actually mean what they're saying.
