Let me tell you guys a story
>Be about 3
>Me and Dad are at the store
>in the checkout Line
>I ask to go look at the candy or something in the next aisle
>He says go ahead
>Lady sees this and says, "You should really get a child leash for him"
>Cashier is looking at him fearfully, probably afraid he is going to freak out or something
>Without missing a beat, he turns and says "Lady, if I wanted a dog I know where the pound is."
>Turns right back around,
>When he gets close enough to the belt just says to me to come back and I went without any fuss.

Honestly, I only ever see people using them as a substitute for actually being a damned parent and watching their little brats in public. I'll admit, they're not a totally bad idea for kids with mental disabilities like severe down's syndrome or autism who could run off and hurt themselves. But, if you just have a flat out, badly behaved little hell spawn putting them on a leash like an ill-tempered chihuahua is no compensation for your bad parenting. Teach your damned kids how to behave in public.
