Not exactly... But to further the reason why it is okay to torrent a program/game/album/movie once in a while:
- Subscription fees, like TV subscription and internet subscription, a small amount of that money goes directly to the publishers of movies/games/program industry.
- You can't have everything in the world, you can't enjoy everything in the world, but some of the prices of programs/games/movies/albums are insane, which do not fall within your budget, but you do want entertainment. Just way to much money for what they offer. Steam does this the correct way for example. Cheap prices, good platform without the annoying piracy protection shit.
- Going to a concert, or going to the cinema's actually provides more income for the creator of the product than to go buy the actual product off the shelves. Games for example: More than 50% off the money you give by buying the product off the shelves land in the hands of the publisher. 25% off that money goes to the store itself and 15% goes to whoever claims right for the product (for example, if you buy an Xbox 360 game, you pay microsoft for the rights to bear the Xbox 360 name on the disc...) and 10% goes to the actual creator. Altough publishers do invest money in their creators so it is a rough estimate. I don't think its any different with movies and albums.
TL;DR: You can pirate a game/movie/album without any consequences if you sometimes just buy a product or go to the cinema's/concert's.
