Hi FunnyJunk. I came up with a theory. Please stick with me, and please read:
The way, I see it, the internet is like one big planet. Planet Internet. We all need to live together in order to thrive.
4chan, of course, is Russia. This just goes without saying. (/b/ can be almost like Nazi Germany, but we're gonna stick with Russia)
FunnyJunk is sort of like America -- we do like to whine, we do come up with cheap knock-offs of others sites, but we can be original. And we also like nothing better than to criticize other sites. Sound an awful lot like radical Patriotism.
Reddit, to me, it kind of like the UK/Britain. Kind of just keeping to themselves until some shit really comes up.
Tumblr is like France. They want to feel tough, but in the end, they'll just surrender to us and the rest of the internet.
9-Gag (I put the hyphen there so it wouldn't get filtered) is Canada. They want to feel important, but they really aren't. No one would miss it if it were gone except the inhabitants. No one really cares for it except the inhabitants.
Facebook is China -- which is ironic, because Facebook is actually banned in most parts of China. But the reason I say this is because of the large population.
I feel like Google is probably Japan, because holy shit, it comes up with some crazy ass shit when you least expect it, but a lot are fukken helpful as shit. Some others are just fukken...weird.
Myspace is Antarctica. ...we'll just leave it at that.
Twitter is...hmmm...Hong Kong, since they share a lot of the same people as Facebook/China.
But why am I saying all of this?
The reason why is because this is the internet. We all live together on this planet, and we need to learn to live with each other. The hate against every other site that isn't ours should stop. Did I criticize some other sites? Sure, but we all have our issues. Did I say I hated them? No. The fact of the matter is, we have to learn to live together.
Also, stop complaining about stolen content or ideas. The internet has well over 14 billion webpages. There are 7 billion people in the world. There are NO true original ideas.
With that said, I bid thee farewell! Enjoy your stay on Planet Internet.
