Roses are red
Violets are blue
I'd just like to say
I'd give my life for you
But this Valentine's Day
As we sit under this dome
Of blue let's remember
The ones who didn't come home
The sons and the fathers.
The daughters and wives
Who left for the battlefield
And lost their lives
True heroes, they are
My honor to them
Who gave their lives
To protect and defend
So I say to the soldiers
Who lived and died
"Thank you, great ones."
As they take Death as their bride
