There's a big difference between contributing and not helping at all.
Obviously they don't expect America to fix it all, it just seems idiotic to be wasting our time on such stupid stuff like unnecessary censorship and pizza, when the world's getting worse day by day.
Basically, the world is a baseball team versing global problems and America is the retard in outfield playing with a butterfly while baseballs are flying right over his head

Allies: Hey America, come help us fight against the Nazi's
America: Nope. I don't give a ****, we aren't under threat, I'll just get rich off of the conflict.
Japan: *Surprise attack*
America: It's on now son! Nazi's are really bad and stuff and we wanted to fight them for ages.
Allies: That's great, we just need you to mobilise your forces into our respective armies
America: Nope, we gotta do this separately from the rest of the allies then claim that we did everything.

Lend lease wasn't in effect until March 1941 I believe, so that was a year and a half after the start of the war, all that time they were reaping in the money off of the countries trying to fight a war against the Nazi's.

America held a isolationist stance as long as they were getting money and weren't directly affected by the war, as soon as they got involved they wanted to make sure they won, regardless of the cost, ergo lend-lease. Europe still had massive debts to pay to the US after the war.

Hell Marshall aid was only given to countries after the war to make sure the US got their money back (war debt), and to prevent the possible spread of communism (which also would have resulted in the war debts not being paid back). The USA's actions weren't selfless like you make them out to be, the actions always benefit themselves first and foremost.

The only reason people know about SOPA is because it directly affected them...well all legislation directly affects American citizens but god forbid they mess with the internet. There are plenty of bills that passed that were against our constitutional rights.Pizza is considered a vegetable for good reasons,we aren't going to go and teach kids like "This is a carrot,it's a vegetable. This is a pizza,it is also a vegetable." if you think that...well...you are whats wrong with this world.

If you aren't from America then you shouldn't be mad at the U.S. Government for stuff like that...if you are going to be angry at us then at least be mad for a valid reason. The U.S. Government chooses what goes on in the United States of America go be mad at your own government and we'll be mad at ours.

People want us to stay out of other countries business but all the sudden something bad happens and we don't do anything they are like "**** America, they don't do anything good!" Every country has its good and bad sides, and denying that is just ignorant. If you are going to be mad at another country make sure you have a good reason...we all live in the world together we shouldn't hate each other...

Also why is riots on that list of world problems?Countries don't ask help from other countries if there are riots.

As for the health care we have been working on that for a long time now...its just constant bickering between parties that make it impossible for us to get a healthcare plan set right.

I'm not saying America is the best place in the world, but it definitely isn't the worst.I'm sick and tired of hearing stuff like this.I find it insulting that people think America is a **** hole and only rednecks and stupid politicians live here.

"I find it insulting that people think America is a **** hole and only rednecks and stupid politicians live here. "

Not in the OC. Not at all. That brings nothing to your argument. The OC is just annoyed at Congress, and so am I.

"We aren't going to go and teach kids like "This is a carrot,it's a vegetable. This is a pizza,it is also a vegetable." if you think that...well...you are whats wrong with this world. "

Not part of the argument.OH PEEis clearly annoyed at the priorities of Congress.

"Every country has its good and bad sides, and denying that is just ignorant. If you are going to be mad at another country make sure you have a good reason...we all live in the world together we shouldn't hate each other... "

We can all agree on those two dollar phrases. But that's not even relevant. The OC never says America is a bad country.OH PEEis angry at us for our skewed congressional going-ons, but that doesn't mean he is saying to hate America.

"As for the health care we have been working on that for a long time now...its just constant bickering between parties that make it impossible for us to get a healthcare plan set right. "

That's the problem with most things Congress works on. It makes Congress operate badly...which is one of the points i'm sureOH PEEis trying to make.

You say you're sick of hearing America is the worst place in the world, but that isn't said. Criticism isn't hate. America is a big country, and it is a good country, but that doesn't mean we can't criticize it when it is wrong. And there's a lot wrong. There is more we could do for not just the country, but for the world.

TL;DR The majority of your comment is ********.

You say that as if people are just like "Oh yeah, you know...America could do better I mean they do make a couple mistakes here and there but if they just plan better they could make some progress."
This was more directed at people who blatantly hate America and will admit to it proudly, because they think we are all dumb...that is why I use rednecks and stupid politicians.

The reason I brought up the thing about the pizza is because Congress had good reason to vote on it,it wasn't a waste of time like the internet likes to make it out to be.

I never saidOH PEEhated us...that,again,was directed at people who blatantly hate America.

Congress does make a lot of mistakes and bicker a lot especially with big subject like healthcare, that was why I said that in the first place.

Criticism isn't hate, but anger isn't criticism...andOH PEEsaid he was mad at the government of a country that he doesn't even live in...I'll bet the only reason he knows of SOPA and the Pizza thing is because of the internet. Also the U.S. Government does try to help the world but as I said people don't like when we are in other countries which we would have to do to actually help that country.

"This was more directed at people who blatantly hate America and will admit to it proudly, because they think we are all dumb...that is why I use rednecks and stupid politicians. "

You know, that's not really a very big majority in the comments. And i'd be willing to tell them that's ********, but, the subject at hand wasn't about hate, and most of the comments aren't about hating the country (perhaps the goverment...). And perhaps if this was a reply to one of those comments, which it should have been, i'd agree to bits of it.

"I never said (the oc's creator) hated us...that,again,was directed at people who blatantly hate America. "

Neither did I. What I said is it wasn't relevant, and he isn't trying to say anything about hate. Which he isn't. Again, there's no direction there.

"Congress does make a lot of mistakes and bicker a lot especially with big subject like healthcare, that was why I said that in the first place. "

That's why this oc was created.

"Criticism isn't hate, but anger isn't criticism...and (oh pee) said he was mad at the government of a country that he doesn't even live in...I'll bet the only reason he knows of SOPA and the Pizza thing is because of the internet. Also the U.S. Government does try to help the world but as I said people don't like when we are in other countries which we would have to do to actually help that country."

You can be angry when you criticize. In fact, that can drive you to criticism. The entire post is criticism, even with the word anger taken out. Hell, i'm criticizing you and i'm not mad at you. Love and tolerate and whatnot. Also, don't make assumptions about him that you can't reference. Saying 'i'll bet' is shooting your gun in the air with no purpose...which is pretty much your entire first comment. In addition, i'm not saying that the U.S. government doesn't try to help the world. The whole point it is we could do more, and we're doing stupid ****.

Hate was probably not the best word to use,but I felt that I used mad enough,so I went with hate...obviously not the best synonym since hate is more extreme.

The point I was trying to make is thatOH PEEshouldn't be mad at the government for making pizza a vegetable...it has no effect on him at all...unless of course he is going to move to America and is going to attend public school, which I don't think he is.There are plenty of other stupid **** that the government does that he could have gone off of instead of pizza...SOPA is understandable because it can shut down sites on American based servers that other people in other countries use.

Criticism is very opinionated. He is saying the whole pizza thing was a bad idea but it actually wasn't.It had more significance than the internet made it seem. Also that assumption was part of my criticism of this post...a lot of criticism makes assumptions likeOH PEEdid...he assumed the pizza thing was just for ***** and giggles.

I'd like to say you shifted the apparent direction from this comment from the oc to the commentors to the oc again.

He's mad at the pizza thing because he feels we have bigger priorities. That's the point. Not that the pizza thing was stupid, but that wasting time on it was stupid when we have so much on our plate. I could understand your argument if he was one of those retards that went "PIZZA A VEGGIE HAHA **** AMERICA.". He didn't assume anything, the point was about our priorities. We have so much more to worry about and to be working on.

As I said my point towards theOH PEEwas that he shouldn't be mad at the pizza thing...I thought that much was clear or I just need to specify myself more...the whole overall comment though is just my opinion on posts like this and people who don't like America for stupid things.

If he thinks that the pizza thing was a waste of time is even more of a stupid reason...it wasn't a waste of time at all...it was brought up to deal with a problem in America. If he wants to criticize congress on stupid things then maybe he should actually criticize stupid things that they've done...

You make a point, but lets be honest here. If you are an on /r/atheism, for example, and you want to call someone out on an atheist being retarded...even if it furthers your apparent cause...it's sometimes wise to say "atheist here" so you don't get buried on downvotes because it made you look momentarily like a Christian. You are right. This is the internet. And the internet can't prove you're a cat, so they often make assumptions and disregard arguments based on them. It's really stupid but that's the reality of it.

You're an American,it makes sense that you are mad at the U.S. government.
They are definitely blinded by greed and that creates problems for American citizens...not whereverOH PEEis from. That was my point he is not an American but he is mad at the U.S. government for stuff that doesn't affect him...like the pizza thing for example.
It is sad to hear you say you aren't a patriot...I love America for what is stands for not what it is.The true patriots in my eyes are the ones who are trying to make America a better place where you have real freedom...but most Americans don't want real freedom they don't want the independence and responsibility of it.

Are you really so blind as to think that the acts of one nation's government, no matter how insignificant, doesn't affect the rest of the world? No. Its all interconnected. Nation is to world as state is to america. If one does something stupid the rest look at it like a dumbass. For example the immigration laws in arizona. Many of the rest of the states found it controversial and wrong, but months later other states are thinking about adopting similar laws, even though the law handles the problem poorly. The same is true with the world. One nation makes a stupid law, everyone laughs at them, then they mimic it like a baboon.
Its all ******* connected! I get just as mad when another nation's politicians does something stupid. Look at the entire nation of north korea, I'm mad about that. I wish someone could do something about that. But by your logic, because its not my nation, I shouldn't give a damn.

Once again...I think you missed my point...how does making pizza a vegetable for school lunches effect OP's country?I admit that SOPA would have affect on his country but not a major one.
Obviously what is going on in North Korea is a lot more worse than just making pizza a vegetable...do you see where I am getting at now?One small thing like that shouldn't make you mad.
There are plenty of other reason to be mad at the U.S. government.
Like I said if you are going to be angry at a countries government make it a damn good reason.
You have a very good reason to be mad at North Korea's government.Especially since they do things that are considered threatening to the rest of the world.

This was never about the pizza. the pizza was being used as an example of a stupid bill that went through congress and ate up precious floor time for other, more important bills! The only reason it was even in the OC was because it was relevant. Had this been 60 years ago it would have been changing the name of french fries to "freedom fries" Its a stupid thing that never should have been brought up....BY ANY GOVERNMENT...........LET ALONE THE SUPER POWER OF THE WORLD!

Like I said...they had very valid reasons to bring up the pizza...read below to see why.
Also there are stupid bills being discussed everyday, and tomorrow won't be different. The only reason these ones are brought up is because the internet thinks it is funny...Stupid **** is always going on in Congress, its the major things that you should be mad about if you are form a different country and if you are an American then you should be mad at congress in general for acting like high school girls that bicker at each other over some stupid ****.

No. The girls I met in high school were much smarter than any senator, don't give them such credit

Obesity, though a major problem, is not the government's problem. They can do nothing to change it, only the people can. Its a personal thing, something this country holds dear.

No. No one on the internet thinks its funny. The only laughter I hear is nervous laughter so that they don't scream....I just took the pizza out of the equation why am I even talking about it?
And the major things ARE our primary concern. Problem is we don't have a reliable news media to tell us just exactly what the **** is going on. The only reason SOPA got coverage is because we found out about it via the internet, from the very sites they wanted shut down.
Journalism is dead
Politics is a career.
Sopa is just ONE example of an outrageous bill and by far the most currently relevant, so thats the example I'm using. General ignorance combined with a lack of media COMBINED with dirty politics equals....well, a government worth hating.

And I use the word "government" not nation for a reason. The world hates our government....it only slightly hates our people, and they kinda have reasons to support that too.

I'm not sure you are serious or not about the senator thing...but whatever it doesn't matter really.

So all the laughing and jokes about pizza being a vegetable were fake?Gotcha.
I am not sure how the news and journalism got brought up,but I've read many articles about politics that are very well written and informative.
Yes...politics is indeed a career...
SOPA is indeed a major bill...but as I saidOH PEEshouldn't be getting mad at the pizza thing which was my example of something that shouldn't makeOH PEEmad...and SOPA does have somewhat of an effect onOH PEEso that does give him a right to be mad about it.

America's government is very much hated, and that hate is sometimes taken out on the people which is partly what I based my original comment off of.

Noble. I will never belittle someone for defending people. Even if some people don't deserve to really be defended because they'll just do something stupid again making it harder to defend each time.

The government however should be able to defend itself from the stupid things it has done but alas, they can't.. Its simply indefensible.
You and I dig deep. We find the articles, we see what big brother is up to. But mainstream media is just a puppet, and that's what a majority of amerifats pay attention to.

Some Americans don't even concern themselves with American politics.
Like I said earlier they don't want the responsibility and independence of real freedom.
One thing about America that I don't like to admit is that it is a corporatocracy rather than a democracy.
The government itself isn't to blame for it all though...if American actually formed their own opinions and made a ******* difference than we can start to move forward and kick the money hungry politicians out of power.

The USDA considers something a fruit or vegetable on what people think things are,not if it is actually is a fruit or vegetable. They didn't make pizza sauce a vegetable.Tomato paste is what is considered a vegetable, and it is actually pretty healthy for you.
Schools only use tomato paste in their pizza.
How is it promoting obesity if they are making it cheaper for schools to acquire one of their more healthy food items, and restrict other vegetables that are high in starch like potatoes, which are used to make french fries that aren't healthy...

Its laziness. Pure and simple. Instead of making them eat something thats a little healthier, they should actually be giving them healthy food. There are plenty of substitutes.

I sorta agree on the laziness they could have put way more thought and time into the whole thing.Having just more fruits and vegetables make more sense.Kids just need to get over it and just eat them, but to most kids vegetables are horrible. The problem isn't only the system it is the parents too.Instead of going out and buying some fast food, actually make a meal with a healthy portion of vegetables. The government can only do what saves them the most money, and buying pizza in bulk is cheaper than buying a bunch of different types of vegetables. Not the best solution but is was a simple and cheap solution.

Yes...that is the only reason pizza is considered a vegetable in school lunches. Its healthier than pizza you get at a restaurant. And,the paste is the only thing that makes it healthier, the cheese and pepperoni are basically the same.

Pizza is easier and cheaper to buy...sadly...it takes out the need of a main meal and a side of vegetables. This part more of an opinion but I think the blame is partly on the parents shoulders too. They don't give their children enough vegetables so they dislike them because it is different from what they are used to eating e.g. McDonalds and places like that.

That it is. And they want to censor it because it gives us more power:

Government: "POWER?!?! NO ALL FOR ME NONE FOR YOU GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMME"
