Supposedly being renamed to "New Orleans Pelicans" within the next 2 or 3 seasons.

...cmon. That sounds retarded. I could think of so many cooler names...I think "New Orleans Soul" sounds awesome.

Wow. I mean, "Hornets" wasn't the most intimidating name, but Pelicans? That's just stupid.
They'd probably have a bit of trouble using "Soul" as a name, since there's an AFL with that monicker.

Eh, I don't think it would pose a problem.
Just across NFL, NBA ,MLB, and NHL you have multiple Jets, Cardinals, Giants, Panthers, etc....
At least I hope "Soul" wouldn't be an issue.

pretty much 1.5k people think the same as you on Facebook, it's retarded. Pelicans doesn't even sound remotely intimidating, that sounds like something for the WBNA, I'm sure the players don't even like the idea.
