I was a vegan for a couple months, then I had to quit because my grocery bill was too high and I couldn't afford it.

about 3 years so far.

Being a vegetarian shortens your life span. Humans are omnivorous by nature. The exact same goes for people who consume strictly meat. While yes, you can get some of your minerals found in meat from beans, nuts, and soy, many others are totally irreplaceable as they are found exclusively in red meat.

I respect your choice though, I lived vegetarian for a short period of time, mostly because it was cheaper. And I couldnt do it.

It means they can eat dairy products(lacto) and eggs (ovo), but they abstain from anything else coming from an animal.

Personally, I think that vegetarianism in of itself is contradictory to human progress, but I won't judge those who practice it.

what do you mean?
#30225 to #30200 - Mentoman (07/13/2012) [-]
I think that the natural progression of natural evolution is the consumption of lesser(weaker) beings. In fact, the only way we gain energy is buy consuming living(or products of living) beings.

That being said, we shouldn't abuse those beings on which we rely. Neither should we inordinately kill.

Still, I see it as childish and silly to abstain from meat, when not only do we benefit, but the animal is spared a more gruesome, pointless death.
#30231 to #30225 - szymonf (07/13/2012) [-]
i find this gruesome and pointless

i find it ignorant to argue without facts
#30373 to #30231 - Mentoman (07/14/2012) [-]
Who says we were arguing? I was just stating my beliefs. You know you don't have to agree/try to contradict me, right?
User avatar #30374 to #30373 - szymonf (07/14/2012) [-]
i am stating my beliefs as well
i have no idea what you are talking about
