I'm A+ as well, apparently there's a shortage of our blood. Carter keeps harassing me to donate more, so there's that...

A+ blood has been shown to withstand colder locations. Our bodies can run at a slightly lower temp than B blood and function properly. That's why A blood is prevalent in more northern climates (generally)

You know, the cold has never bothered me as much as most people. So that's a possible reason? Awesome.

Other factors include: skin pigmentation, race, your mothers' Rh factor (if you are + and she is also +,) and weather you were exposed to UV rays from the sun while still in your mothers' womb.
But yes! you have slightly superior blood in cold weather!

A+ is the best blood for donating Platelets, and our wounds heal faster than any other blood type.

A+ blood type here, where did you hear that A+ heals faster? I couldn't find any conclusive articles on the subject, but you have spiked my curiosity on the subject.

Well, first it'll say that no where because it's kind of trivial at how different the rate of healing is, it's only maybe a few seconds. but here's the website that basically says A+ is the best for platelets, because ours are the strongest.

www.oneblood.org/target-your-type/a-positive.stml

and Platelets, are blood cells whose function (along with the coagulation factors) is to stop bleeding.

Not sure it's really saying that... It does point out that platelet donations are extremely helpful, but it doesn't really go into any details on A+ having more than others. Did you reach the conclusion that A+ heals wounds faster because you believed wwe hd more platelets?

I don't think I have to worry about that, since I've been breathing Oxygen since the day I was born. Docs say the same thing about that situation, nothing to be done about it.

I used to donate often, but i haven't in the past year and a half both due to my horrible experience the last time I donated (had a 103.1 fever, then i had a low temperature of 95.7 after they cooled me off, I blacked out.), and also because I got a tattoo February 2013

I have RH Factor, a somewhat rare blood type that can cause severe complications during women's pregnancy. However it can be avoided if aware of prior to conception. If you don't know you're blood type I strongly urge you to find out; If you're sexually active.

No, they can deal with that. It's not something you need to get tested for like an STD, because most (I imagine all but you can't be too sure) hospitals test all pregnant mothers and are ready to deal with it(it also can't effect mothers in their first pregnancy(assuming the fetus carries the rH factor which it might not depending on the genotypes of the parents) as they haven't built up the antibodies to it yet (unless of course there is early trauma to the fetus resulting in exchange of blood).
