That area is not useless.
It can be used to stab people to death.
Or to stick into your favorite orifice for sexual gratification.

Hey genius, the "totally useless" part is actually very useful. If you want to cut something larger than 2 cm you need that "totally useless" part. I dont knwo about you, but id rather have that larger one than a really small scizzor where you have to cut like 100 times for what you wanted.
User avatar #20 to #16 - cormy (11/19/2013) [-]
You don't cut 100 times... You cut once slightly, and then drag for profit.
User avatar #36 - brotherhood ONLINE (11/19/2013) [-]
yes but like as you close the blades together it cuts longer
User avatar #15 - AllanLancebricole (11/18/2013) [-]
The useless part is awesome when you want to stab someone. Trust me, I'm a psychopath.

Squeeze the handles of the scissors together, and then EVERYTHING will cut.

I find that scissors are generally okay until you use them to cut things you shouldn't cut with scissors.
For instance, using nail clippers on wires (or, you know, wire cutters) works great!
Touch my fabric scissors with that intention, and we'll use non-fabric scissors to cut off your fingers. (The bones would also damage the blades.)
Generally, as long as you're just cutting paper and string, things should work fine.
