Hey genius, the "totally useless" part is actually very useful. If you want to cut something larger than 2 cm you need that "totally useless" part. I dont knwo about you, but id rather have that larger one than a really small scizzor where you have to cut like 100 times for what you wanted.

I find that scissors are generally okay until you use them to cut things you shouldn't cut with scissors.
For instance, using nail clippers on wires (or, you know, wire cutters) works great!
Touch my fabric scissors with that intention, and we'll use non-fabric scissors to cut off your fingers. (The bones would also damage the blades.)
Generally, as long as you're just cutting paper and string, things should work fine.

I use a pair of razor sharp sergical scissors, the entire length cuts. even the very tip.
