Bill gates was also in harvard, but they both left because they had better business opportunities if they left.

Yeah because comparing yourself to some of the most successful people seems reasonable.

If you're making $10000.00-$20000.00 a month at the age of 16 then you can leave school
User avatar #31 - berrabuz ONLINE (05/13/2014) [-]
Yeah because they left school because they were slackers and were failing in everything, no they left because they had a promising future which school would only slow down

Let all take a moment to realize this. Humans have figured out how to dig into the earth and find materials to allow us to fly. Humans have figured out what's inside of us, how it works, what it need's and what it does. Humans have figured out how to leave this world using things only found in this world. Humans have figured how to to clone animals, grow organs out side bodies, extract minerals and use them to build and use them to make us live longer.

You are part of a species that took over a planet filled with billions of ways to die and where ever other species wants to kill you. Yet, we survived. If humans can do all that you can find that perfect career that makes you happy.

You don't get somewhere extraordinary by doing ordinary things. If you do as you're told your whole life, you can only expect to go where everyone else is going to go. For most, going to school and getting a good job is success, and that's perfectly fine, but that's the most ordinary thing you can do with your life. If you can be happy being ordinary, that's actually a really good thing. But it's pretty ordinary to want to be extraordinary, and what makes the difference is what you do to make your dreams come true. It's also pretty ordinary to become discouraged when you realize you don't have what it takes. I don't have what it takes to fulfill my dreams, but you know I ain't worried. It's not about having what it takes so much as it is about getting what it takes. We don't all have what it takes, but we all have what it takes to have what it takes. If you were born with what you needed you would have already succeeded.

Jobs wasn't born with Apple.
Zuckerburg wasn't born with Facebook.
Gates wasn't born with Windows.

The thing about making it is that you have to actually make it.

A lot of people become convinced that luck is the true discerning factor, but ask anyone who made it and they'll disagree. The only thing holding you back is what you're willing to do and how far you're willing to go. You could literally just run out the door right now, not leave a trace behind and return the most successful man on the face of the planet. You have the materials, all you need is the industry.

Set your sights on something and ask yourself if it's impossible. And if it's possible, ask yourself why it can't be. Don't look at the odds, just look at those why's. Because with each why you eliminate, the odds will start counting in your favor. Before you know it your dream might be replaced by a new one, not because you forgot it, but because you didn't think big enough.

It's the mindset that put men on the moon, and it's the mindset that will make you join them.

TL;DR

This is such a load of ******** . I graduated from high school, and over the past 3 years, i have had over 7 different jobs, and not one of them involved food or being a server. What is everyone elses excuse?
User avatar #42 to #41 - Senilecow (05/13/2014) [-]
Question is why have you had to get 7 different jobs?

Fine to leave school if you are good at something. the whole point of an education is to find something you are good at and make you better at it. If you suck at everything school prob won't help too much.

Only if you're **** in school, or completely unmotivated to do something else.
Also, Gates graduated high school and later droped out of University, already having started a successful company. Zuckerberg and Jobs also were college dropouts, not highschool dropouts.
#18 - angelusprimus (05/13/2014) [-]
They didn't leave SCHOOL, they left elite universities.
In school they had amazing grades and worked their asses off (yes, Jobs too).
Gates and Zuckerberg were both enrolled in Harvard, and Jobs was enrolled in Reed college.
Gates and Zuckerberg didn't leave school because they were like "I'm tired of taking classes, I'll leave and get rich!" they left after ALREADY making money and believing they have a billion dollar idea on their hands.
Jobs left because he couldn't afford to pay for college anymore, and then slept in a car and collected cans for money and attended classes to get more education for free without credits. He decided to make money and come back, and only after Apple became success beyond wildest dreams did he decide not to go.
THAT's the difference between people who quit to become bilionaires and those that quit high school to be minimum wage workers.

I never went to school!
User avatar #14 - astroelephant (05/13/2014) [-]
I think it is more important to point out that they went to school.
User avatar #13 - rootintootinputin (05/13/2014) [-]
i think half the time, people with bad jobs are there because of bad luck and the other half are there because they just suck. like how college commercials started saying # out of # of our students find jobs in their fields in # months
User avatar #11 - ilovemyguns (05/13/2014) [-]
They all left advanced colleges to tend to their already very successful businesses.

You want to drop out of highschool.

Life choices don't matter.
It's like we're playing a Telltale game every day of our lives.
