Yes, but both the Iranians and the US government agree that it was an accident because someone on the USS Vincennes done goofed, and the US apologized in 1996, also paying the Iranian government $131.8 million.

Oh wow, well isn't this ******* biased as hell?

As of 1993, the United States had not apologized to Iran.[11] In 1996, the United States and Iran reached "an agreement in full and final settlement of all disputes, differences, claims, counterclaims" relating to the incident at the International Court of Justice, including a recognition of the incident in the form of "...the United States recognized the aerial incident of 3 July 1988 as a terrible human tragedy and expressed deep regret over the Loss of lives caused by the incident...".[12] As part of the settlement, the United States did not admit legal liability but agreed to pay on an "ex gratia" basis US$61.8 million, amounting to $213,103.45 per passenger, in compensation to the families of the Iranian victims.

Every military of every country has ****** up and has an incident on their hands where innocent people have been killed. But no, keep spouting off this " **** AMERICA, AMERICA IS EVIL, AMERICA SLAUGHTERED AN INNOCENT BABY AIRPLANE" ******** .

Referencing an event that happened several big brother administrations ago as a excuse for current events is pretty dumb. All it does is open up condemnation of every country because every country has done ****** things.

We live in the present, we should learn from the past, not use it to excuse similar situations.

remember how Iranians and other middle easterners almost constantly strap explosives to themselves and detonate said explosives in public spaces, as well as airliners, killing civilians intentionally?

Remember when we overthrew their democratically elected prime minister in favor of a fascist dictator?

The fact that under George Bush's regime, a passenger plane got shot down, doesn't excuse the fact that Putin lied about shooting down the Malaysian plane.

You all keep forgetting that Russia has a full right to defend themselves from Malaysian invasion.
It was a plane full of AIDS scientists who were weaponizing AIDS to infect Russians and turn them into homos. That's what those chem trails behind the plane were doing.

Literally everything bad that happens in the world somehow draws parallels to the US.

If Atlantis suddenly arose from the sea and declared war on Luxembourg for whatever reason, The US would still get bashed for something.

Oh god forbid we shed a tear now that we are an entirely different generation with completely different viewpoints, morals, and ideas than previous campaigns.

Why we should just forget all of this and just despise all those useless families who just died because self righteous assholes like you exist.

You're a faggot, no seriously you are at your core next to your heart a faggot and I hate you.

Hasn't the world already established that both Bushes are taint stains? It doesn't make this Malaysian Airlines catastrophe any less tragic.

I could see any country shooting down an airliner. Imagine your on a ship in enemy or neutral territory. All of the sudden you see a big ass plane on the radar, you check flight logs, no commercial airliners reported on that flight path, no planes to intercept said aircraft.

Attempt communication, failed. Attempt again, failed. Well **** they drop a bomb on us, shoot it down.

I figure it would probably go down something like that. I find it hard to believe any country would shoot down a commercial airliner, knowing what it is unless they were deliberately trying to start a conflict.

While you're all talking war I'm just going to leave this gif of a dog being chased by a fake alligator here.

remember that time USSR shot down a southkorean airplane, claimed that they didnt shoot down any plane until voice record between jet pilot and soviet general has been played on the UN meeting, didnt apologize for it and they didnt give black boxes to US until 1993?
User avatar #108 - zealotgold (07/24/2014) [+] (11 replies)
no because the president shouldnt apologize for the military actions, the military should.
User avatar #109 to #108 - lyiat ONLINE (07/24/2014) [-]
Uh... mate.... President is the commander-in-chief. He's the highest authority in the military. It doesn't get more military than him.

Damn that's boss. A shame that we cut off our own nuts with all the politically correct ********* . America needs to go back to just giving other countries the finger like they deserve.
#53 to #44 - auryn (07/24/2014) [-]
Yes.

Not giving a **** about killing innocent people, that's really "boss"
Refusing mistakes were made, really shows character, huh.

The entire reason this planet is the ******** that it is the mentality like yours.

Now hold up a second. We did apologize for that. Additionally, that was related to computer failure, and a civilian jet inadvertently showed up as a hostile plane. Was an accident.

This is in comparison to the allegation Russian separatist forces deliberately targeted a commercial airliner filled with civilians.

inb4 "Oh it's an Americafag". We've done a lot of crappy, stupid things, but you don't know your history and you're analogy is bad.
#86 - apellon ONLINE (07/24/2014) [-]
oh yeah bro I agree since the US shot down a civilian aircraft means that this whole Malaysian Airline stuff is just weak **** . I mean who the **** cares. we should just forget about this recent airliner.

oh yeah if I remember correctly the Soviet Union also shot down a Korean airliner en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_Air_Lines_Flight_007 so I guess the deaths of the Malaysian Airlines passengers really means nothing since two world superpowers can shoot down civilian airliners if they want to.
