Here's my take on things.

I do not believe God is real.
However, if there was some sort of proof which I thought to be good enough, I would not feel bad about changing my opinion.

If I die and nothing happens, then it doesn't matter.
If I die and there is a God, then I was wrong, however if he was really a being of infinite love he would understand I was sorry for doubting him and forgive me.
If not, then he's an asshole and I don't want any part of his bullshit.

There's no need for me to argue about religion, believe what you wish.
As long as it doesn't affect my life, I don't mind at all.

I just don't see the point of devoting your entire existence to God. If God is real and he wanted us to have free will, then why force us to devote our lives to him...

the problem with your logic is say god is real, will you really be asking for forgiveness or would you just not want to suffer what ever punishment that religion holds.

Exactly. I would not want to server eternal damnnation, however I'd be pissed off with God for all the suffering in the world, so I'd pretend to asking for forgiveness.

But then God would realise I don't actually devote myself to him and I'd end up in hell.

Hence why I don't believe in God.

He's not forcing us. He's giving us the choice of eternal life in heaven or hell. There's no forcing involved. All you have to do is believe that Jesus can save you from hell, if you so wish. It's totally up to you.

It's up to me.

But I don't choose not to believe in him, I just think there's no real reason to.

Buddhism, Islam, Judaism etc. have just as much proof, which do I believe?
