TO BE FAIR... it was a game 7 Stanley cup final against Boston, and everyone ******* hates Boston.

But yes, all of Canada acknowledges the fact that Vancouver was retarded for this. It's because Vancouver's one of the warmest places in Canada. The thing that makes Canadians so nice is being frozen all the time, cooling our blood and keeping us calm. That's just science.
Sorry though
User avatar #79 to #9 - iridium (08/22/2014) [-]
Actually, as I recall Canadians actually hated Vancouver that season. They were a bunch of divers who just did stupid **** , like Aaron Rome who cheapshot Nathan Horton so hard he knocked him out for the final and he still hasn't recovered from it seeing as he barely plays half a season any more, Or Alexandre Burrows who went Luis Suarez on Patrice Bergeron's finger in the first game and got away with it.

It says something when a Canadian team is in the Cup final and Canadians DON'T want them to win. The riots in Vancouver (which were honestly to be expected when you have a 1700$ per ticket game and 100,000 people downtown with inadequate police security and a lot of alcohol.

There also seems to always be some sort of riot over sports, I don't know why Vancouvers was so special

Most of those "Libyans" ended up being Saudi's the CIA sent in because Gaddafi wanted gold for his oil and that pissed off the West.

Why would the US have supported an uprising against a government that was friendly to it? There has to be a damned good reason for that kind of thing. The only time the US had done that and acknowledged it was with the former government of the now defunct nation of South Vietnam, whose leader was so corrupt that the US assassinated him and had him replaced with somebody more reliable.

User avatar #151 to #131 - fridgelogic (08/22/2014) [-]
There is still a good number of the brotherhood remnants out at large, trying to cause as much chaos as possible, such as taking down high pressure electricity towers and such. However they quickly get the boot. For now I can't compare Mubarak and Sisi, since the later is only beginning, but I can say that he has a good head on his shoulders and he has good planing and strategy, much better than Morsi, the brotherhood president, whom we impeached and removed. ****** did nothing to solve anything at all and there was rumors that he was smuggling petrol to Ghaza to help them which was the cause of the current electricity problem which snow-balled into the current situation. But I believe Sisi has something planned, like the recent development of the Suez canal. So yeah, I believe that we will get over it and Egypt restored to it's former glory.

I'm not saying Israel has it easy, but they go out of their way to **** all over Palestinians, whether it's by building settlements in their territory (my older brother has visited Israel, he told me that the Jews who live in these settlements are basically Hebrew trailer trash), building a damned wall around Gaza, preventing food and medicine from getting into Gaza, just straight up bombing them, or a whole host of other **** . You can support Israel's right to defend itself without supporting all the **** I just mentioned.

This treatment of the Palestinians is also one of the most reliable recruitment tools for terrorists; you have innocent (for the most part) Muslims being massacred by people who have set up their own religious state, which is in turn supported by the West (eat your heart out, American taxpayers). The actions of the Israeli government look even worse when you consider that the majority of both Israelis and Palestinians support a two state solution.

I live in Canada, and it's been a while since I've seen something positive about the FSA in the media (especially after what's happened in Iraq). That's how it started, but once everyone realized they'd basically been taken over by groups like Al-Qaeda the amount of positive coverage they received diminished pretty quickly.

It's been subtle; there's still coverage of the Syrian army's wrongdoings if something large enough happens, but new stations like the CBC (a publicly funded news radio, television, and internet station) don't even call the rebels the "Free Syrian Army" anymore (since they were the supposed "good guys", at the start of the conflict), they usually just refer to them as "anti-government rebels". A few weeks ago when around 1500 people were killed in Syria, the news sources I saw didn't even try to pin it specifically on the Syrian military, when, around a year ago, they most likely would have.

Every news source has an agenda though. I can go to sites like Russia Today for the other side's position which helps put things in perspective, but it's just as biased as anything I'll find here.
