JK, even though I strongly oppose his presidency, I don't believe that he will totally ruin the entire country.

Truthfully, I don't believe any one person is fit to be president. It's too much work to put on the shoulders of a single individual. t the very least we should have a council or committee or something.

We do have a system like that, but I do believe that the President holds too much influence. Bipartisanship, in my opinion, has truly ripped this country apart.

Exactly! What happened to it being the United States of America? We shouldn't have parties, we should have candidates who have their own values and platforms that aren't framed by whether they're "conservative" or "liberal" or "republican" or "democrat". Labels are what create controversy and hate and violence.

And although I am very religiously involved, and believe strongly about several topics, if we wanted to let religious beliefs dictate our national laws, this would have been a theocracy. I would like to see my own beliefs mirrored in the laws, but only after a majority ruling.

Theocracy is nice if it's based on your own belief system. The problem is that there are so many different belief systems in this country that it would never appeal to everyone. Besides, the whole reason our ancestors left Europe was to escape the Catholic theocracy.

Actually, it was not a Catholic theocracy, but an Anglican.

My apologies. I thought Anglican was the name of the English heritage, not the religious system.

It is both. Henry the 8th formed the Anglican Church in response to his excommunication from the Catholic Church after his pursuit of another divorce.
