So Nicki Minaj is a Republican now. I'm not sure what that means for her, since I'm almost certain she can't even pronounce that word, but it can't be good for our image.

People shouldn't care about celebrity endorsements for political decisions.
But since you're a Republican, do you plan on voting for Romney and why?

I was considering it. Then my liberal girlfriend and I got into a HUGE fight over it, wherein she said if I voted for Romney she would break up with me because Romney wants to take away her rights and if I vote for him it's like I'm taking away her rights. I made the obvious argument that "By telling me not to vote for a guy who will take away your rights, you are taking away my rights." This didn't phase her, and she said it was either vote for Romney or continue dating her. So I thought about it, and while I do care a great deal about my right to vote for whom I choose, I care about my relationship more.

But I plan on raising the issue again shortly before voting day, because I'm still fairly upset by it and I intend to have my cake and eat it too.

Just do it anyway, its not like she'll be right there with you in the booth, right?

No matter who you choose, your girlfriend is committing a grave social injustice by trying to hold your voting rights to ransom like that.

You're girlfriend sounds uneducated.

She is. It's one of the few things I don't like about her.

You have a secret vote man. Lie to her face and vote for who ever the fuck you want. She won't fucking no. If you both do mail in ballets, fill it in for the other guy, turn it in to the polling place saying its invalid and not to be used (you have to hand over your mail in to vote in person) and then vote like a normal person. The bitch will never know. And seriously, thinking of dumping her if shes so controlling that she'd tell you who to vote for.

I'm not gonna lie to her like that. Going behind her back is cowardly. I'm just gonna tell her I'm voting, but I won't say who for. She'll know anyway, but at least then she won't be like "Why did you have to tell me? Are you rubbing it in my face?"

fucked up girlfriend you got there, but I'm not with Romney either. Don't vote for him is the best anyways.

She's not all fucked up. Just heavily misguided in some areas, and she has to learn how to compromise, especially politically. Most of her personality is quite normal.

Okay, well let me rephrase that question, why would you want to vote for Romeny? Not as opposed to Obama, why do you think he's a good candidate?
User avatar #8269 to #8266 - jokeface (09/05/2012) [-]
Well for one thing, he's a businessman, which makes me think he'll do a lot of good for the economy. And he shares my belief that insuring those without jobs would only worsen the unemployment rate. I also like what he wants to do with healthcare, because it would make for a fairer and more stable system. And he wants to put more people in this country to work instead of relying on welfare. That's a big part of why I support him. He also has some great suggestions for the educational system, which, if you've been on the internet for more than a day, you'll agree is in need of much improvement. Furthermore, he supports teaching evolution in schools even though he's religious, and in researching that I learned that he and I have the same belief that religion and scientific discoveries can coexist and tie in with each other.

The way he ran his business is not a way you can run the government

Biased source yeah, but it's been pretty obvious he made a lot of dirty money.
He's got some good ideas for healthcare, but unfortunately it's more along the line of undoing Obamacare, when the entire system needs to be reformed.
Some things he needs to focus on but doesn't: military spending, SS reform, real tax reform.

If your main focus is the economy, I suggest you look into Gary Johnson.
