Lived in the USSR through most my childhood and pretty much came to accept that we're not all born equal we all vary in terms of intelligence when I moved to the UK due to my dads work that got furthered by the fact that I only saw those with determination to escape their situation (In other words council housing dwellers) went on to do well, out of a year group of 200 only 10-15 of us went on to university and got ourselves degrees (Psychology masters degree)
