He's technically still on the ballot because he wants to be able to get his ideas across, even though that's not happening that much. At this point he has no chance of winning whatsoever.

My girlfriend said if I vote for Romney she's gonna break up with me. And while I do want to exercise my freedom to vote for whom I choose, I care less about my vote than I care about preserving my relationship.

Fuck it. Vote for ROmney because in your opinion (and mine) he's the best candidate. I'm guessing your girlfriend is probably liberal because that's what all the "young people" are supposed to be, so don't let her impose her misguided opinion on you. And if she's an actually educated liberal then nevermind, but still vote for Romney because you want to.

I appreciate you saying that man, because that's exactly how I feel about it. But we had a fight that lasted two days over this. She wants to personally execute Romney and all his supporters. And it pisses me off because, it's one thing to hate a candidate for actual reasons. But she's one of those liberals that hates him because of all the lies fed to her by the media. She doesn't believe that he pays taxes, or that the $100k horse is for his wife's therapy, and she thinks that if he gets elected then she'll be forced to pay for her birth control. She's completely brainwashed.

Yea, she's not a violent person, or even a confrontational one, except with people she knows personally. But the way she talks, man. She can be very mean.

Does she actually understand politics at all? I mean maybe she hates Romney specifically because of all the lies and exagerations but still believes in liberal principles. Or is she one of those people who straight up doesn't like Republicans because of the incorrect way the media portrays us?

During our fight there were two things she kept coming back to: "It's my right as a woman to have free birth control" and "I can relate to Obama; He grew up poor just like me".

She seems to focus on the poor. And that's admirable, but she doesn't seem to understand that there's a reason socialism and communism have previously failed. They're nice thoughts and could work in theory, but in practice it just doesn't happen very smoothly and usually ends up causing more conflict than it prevents.

As for the birth control, I think she's just being selfish in that regard, but it's hard to argue that issue because she kept saying "What if I get raped? You want me carrying around a baby that's not yours and then giving birth to it?"

And it's so stupid that she wants Obama to be the president just because she relates to him. A president should be able to maintain and improve a country. He's proven that he can't handle managing a country, as seen with all of the statistics that are against what he had hoped to accomplish (increased the national debt by an enormous amount, increased unemployment rates, slowed job growth, etc). People need a capable leader with knowledge of the economy rather than someone that they think they'd be friends with if they knew them. I'm not saying that an out of touch president is good, just that a person's background means nothing as long as they are capable of running the country well.

I'm really glad you stood up for your beliefs that are based on actual knowledge rather than caving in to the ignorant beliefs of your girlfriend. (It feels weird to say that because I sound like an adult talking to a kid but I'm 16 and I'm guessing you're older).
