I became a christian today, when is the 1st time you learnt you were better than everyone else?
I don't believe I'm better. We're all equal in the eyes of God. Every one of us is a sinner. That means the rapists and serial killers are no less loved by God than you or even the best person you know. The only thing that separates us is our faith in Jesus.
Intolerance is a waste of mental energy. What's sad is that our faith carries a stigma of seeming like intolerance when it's really not. For example, a former friend of mine (who is a lesbian) now hates me because she mistakes my adherence to my faith for bigotry. What happened was I declined an offer to go with her to a gay club because, as I pointed out, patronizing an institution that furthers the ability of the gay community to thrive is in a way enabling homosexuality, and enabling others to sin is also a sin. Keep in mind, I'm not prejudiced against gays. I have gay friends, and hell, my mom is a former lesbian, now bisexual. I have nothing against them and I'm not about to protest or sign any anti-gay petitions. But I think I have the right to remove myself from that culture without being scolded by society as a bigot.

to be honest, I wouldn't mind if gay marriage were legal. I wouldn't vote for it, but it would put an end to all of this bickering. In this day and age it is impossible to keep people from sinning so I believe that it is only a matter of time before the gay community gets their way.
Oh I agree completely. This is America (well, I'm in America, idk where you are). And this country exists because Europeans wanted to escape religious persecution. So it's only a matter of time before gays get their rights, which they deserve per the Constitution. Again, I'm not going to protest or anything. We're told to live and let live, but never stop living our own lives for the glory of God. So that's what I'm doing.
Not for no reason. The first humans broke the only rule in existence at the time: Don't eat the forbidden fruit. It was one of those moments of "You had ONE JOB". So they sinned, and therefore God condemned all of humanity with what we call "original sin". That means you sin without realizing it. When you watch a commercial and covet the item being advertised, that's a sin. When you see a hot girl and have dirty thoughts about her, that's a sin. When you get so mad at someone that you want to harm them, that's a sin. We can't control it. Sin is a part of our nature. Yours, mine, everyone's.

>Isn't logical because logic is defined by what humans are able to conceive, and they naturally reject what they don't understand. God is infinite and could never be fully understood by our intellect, which is why His reasons are beyond us.
>No evidence because faith is literally believing without proof. God chooses not to provide us with physical evidence because He wants us to trust Him without question. If He gave us evidence we would have no choice but to believe. And forced belief is empty and meaningless. We are given the choice of whether or not to trust Him and love Him, and the fact that we risk being wrong but choose Him anyway gives our love power and weight.
>The lack archaeological finds (you know, like the Shroud of Turin) can be grouped with the above rebuttal.
>Nothing is impossible for God. That's why He is God. Duh.
Why do I believe in God? For the same reason God loves us. That doesn't make much sense, does it? God never tells us why He loves us. And I think that's because love as true and powerful as His isn't something that needs reasoning. Love IS the reason. We shouldn't be asking "Why love?" We should be saying "Because love."
And that's why I believe in Him. Because love.

I know Hellenistic polytheism is false because it's been proven that those gods were invented by the ancient Greeks.
I know Mormonism is false because Joseph Smith's writings contradict what God said at the end of the Bible.
I know Scientology is false because its inventor, L. Ron Hubbard, publicly stated that he made it all up.
And I know that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is false because it's a joke created by 4chan.
A lot of faiths can and/or have been proven false. Christianity is not one of them. So citing a cartoon character is not a valid argument against me. Try again.

How can Hellenistic polytheism be false because ancient greeks made them?
FSM isnt a joke made by 4chan. And i find it offensive that you mock my religion.
May his saucyness show mercy to you
