I have had many intellectual discussions on this board. In fact, I have never had as many civilized conversations elsewhere on the internet as I have here. This includes with communists/ marxists, socialist-siding individuals, and even anarchists. I know there have been a bunch of random trolls lately, but I could not disagree with your statement more.

If you don't believe me I can offer you links to at least 8 in-depth civilized conversations I have had with people on this board.
