What do you think would last longer, complete freedom with no laws, or a civilised society with laws denying some things for the sake of cultural integrity and individual safety?
The latter situation would "last" longer. Although both could exist indefinitely, it is more likely than not that governments will be created in the first situation. Governments are formed when people desire protection from other free individuals. They are willing to offer themselves literally as slaves or as slaves financially by paying taxes so they receive protection in return. Before there was governments there was anarchy. The reason anarchy ended is because people decided they would rather be governed than be vulnerable to outside forces.

That part about economical slaves sounds an awful lot like Zeitgeist, and although I do agree with you on that much, I don't necessarily agree with any type of society lasting indefinitely, as I believe that people without political or economical power may try to take it from those who do.
The slavery bit I got from a Public Policy class I am taking. If you really think about it, we are in a form slaves to the government since the government has the power to restrict our rights- including if we do not pay them taxes. I am not saying we truly are slaves, but if we want to live in any normal country, we do not have much of a choice.
I don't really believe any system WOULD last that long, I was trying to say that there is a much higher chance that the latter society could. I have a feeling I will know a lot more about this topic in a month from now (when the class ends).
