I'm having a debate about gun control in a week and I need some solid arguments against gun legalisation. So if you have some I'd love to hear them.
Also if you disagree, don't comment.

I feel like I am famous.
I do not like when people say "We get it."...No, you don't. You are just trying to avoid hearing the problem. Problems don't get solved if you avoid them. Right now we have a BIG problem in America, among hundreds of others. But at the moment, the main problem is gun control. And it will cause us ALL problems if passed. Maybe not tomorrow or a week from now but, months, years, decades it will.

Insults, thumbing down. All he did was politely request a discussion with people who share his opinion, something that you guys take for granted seeing as it's all this board is to the pro-gun side.
God forbid you people have to deal with someone with different views then yourself for once in this one sided rant hall they call the politics board.

Britain has gun bans and they have one of the highest crime rates in the EU.
Washington DC banned guns and they saw a significant rise in crime.
Between 100,000 - 2.5 million crimes are stopped with guns by legal gun owners in America annually.
Since the mid 1990's in the U.S, we have seen a significant drop in gun crime despite law abiding Americans having MORE guns.
In most cases of MASS shootings, the perpetrators were taking Anti-Depressant medication also known as SSRI's.
More deaths result from everyday items each year such as Tobacco products (400,000), Alcohol (75,000) and Painkillers (in 2009, nearly 29,000 people died from unintentional drug overdoses). Guns at around 11,000 deaths per year are the least of our worry.

There's no such thing as a solid anti-gun argument.
A majority of of anti-gun people are ignorant of the history of the second amendment and why it's even there. A majority of them are naive and don't see any need for self-defense. A majority of them get their information from the media who tells them 20 people dying in a shooting is a lot when in reality more than that die every day in violent crimes across the country, yet the US is still a relatively safe place. The total number of violent crimes, not just with guns, is much lower than other countries with very strict gun control.
A majority think that just because a gun looks dangerous, it's somehow more dangerous than a friendly looking rifle with the exact same caliber and function.
They just mindlessly follow what the media and are ignorant of the facts that are all around them. They demonize the gun community when in fact gun/hunting enthusiasts are the nicest people you'll ever meet.
An argument by a person who can't use facts will never hold up...
