Personally I don't give a fuck about either of those issues, but I am compelled to point out that flaw in your argument. You're taking one thing and applying it to another, even though those things have nothing to do with each other and don't function the same way at all.

I can't take my abortion and shoot my neighbour with it. That being said, I also can't stop an intruder with my abortion. See what I'm getting at? You're comparing apples to oranges, or bullets to babies.

I think it was you who missed the point. The subject matter is not important, it is the emotional response to the subject that IS. His point is, if you do not like something, don't associate yourself with it, but have the courtesy to understand that others feel strongly about it and DO like it.
