You think they killed the brains behind Hamas' military because of an upcoming election, and not because they had an opportunity?

Hamas had started firing rockets in to Israel again, and Israel was lucky enough to know where Hamas's military leader was, so they took him out.

The right-wing Israelis will always vote for Likud (+Coalition). They don't need their party leader to start a war to gain their votes.
