ITT: What got you interested in pokémon originally? For me, it was seeing my brothers play/watch it. Then they showed me how to play and gave me some cards (which no one ever knew how to use.) One of them even gave me a holo Charizard.
It began when I was like 6 years old and many of my friends had pokemon. I was like : Mom, Dad get me a Gameboy! So first they got me a cheap game what kinda looked like gameboy, but I told them, that that isnt what I wanted, so next xmas the Santa brought a real Gameboy to my brother and me. But that wasnt it yet. We got a logical game named Snood with it, so we rarely played it. But then my namesday came (We, in Slovakia have tied a name to every day in calendar, so when you are Michael for example, you have your namesday on 29. of september. Funny, isnt it?) and I have got two another games for our Gameboy Advance - Donkey Kong Country 2 and Mario vs Donkey Kong, because my little brother told my parents I want that, but I didnt. I have always wanted pokemon games. Later, I told my mother about that, but she was like meh... Fast forward some years later to year 2010 or eleven when I bought Pokemon Ruby from my friend and my journey began! THE END! btw, sorry for long post, but you asked me what got me interested so.. :D
I just remember playing blue when I was like three, I don't remember getting it I was born a year before it was released in the US, the first pokemon game I actually got, was pokemon silver along with my first gameboy advanced, I was a fan as soon as I picked up the game
I don't know, I always kind of make pokemon deep, some of my fondest memories involve pokemon, it's like pokemon will always be there for me, I remember one time when the power was out at my house during the middle of the summer, I remember sleeping on my deck challenging the elite four of Ruby huddled up in my sleeping bag all night long, until I beat them, that feel ounce you finally beat them (this one isn't that deep but you get the point)
I doubt a phase like that could last as long as he's been without pokemon (which was since Saphire and Ruby came out) I'll admit he tried again with Black, but he gave up after the first five minutes of the game, so I gave it to one of my friends who wanted the game ( he seriously said he didn't want to play the game at all after the first five minutes)
