Okay i have come to a new idea about Ash's father. Ash is the love child between former legendary researcher Spencer and of course Ash's mother. In the 3rd movie Spell of the Unown, Spencer is taken by the Unown. When Ash's mother hears of this she deeply worried and says "Oh no he cant go through this." or something around there. And I know that she doesnt learn about the taking of Spencer but the transformation of Greenville, Johto. Another reason is that She has two photos of Spencer on her frig. One is of Oak, Spencer, his wife and daughter, Ash and his mother. the other has oak, ash's mother and Spencer, in this picture the three of them are smiling while in the other picture Spencer's wife looks upset.
