I love 5th gen, but none of my best Pokémon at the time were 5th gen.
I carry a Lilligant and Mandibuzz around with me most of the time now.

my team current team is Dewott, magby, elekid, scraggy, maractus, and trapinch.

Never used Maractus, so I can't really say anything about it, but I'd drop the Trapinch and Elekid asap, much better ground and electric types out there. Definitely keep the Scraggy though, Scrafty is a total boss.

trapinch is treating me really well and I really want a Flygon because it's one of my fav. pokemon. And electivire is one of my favs too. But if you could recommend another electric type, enlighten me.

Ampharos is a good one to use, you can get a Mareep really early in game too.

i like electivire better. When I'm just playing through the games, I tend to use pokemon i like instead of pokemon that are better. But when i get competitive I begin forming better teams.

Fair enough, to be honest you don't really need an electric for much of the game anyway, Skyla and Marlon maybe but the E4 and champion use quite a few ground types. I managed to beat the E4 with just a Scyther and a Mandibuzz (for the ghost E4) Bug Bite and Aerial Ace everything.

not a huge bug type fan. If I had to pick a favorite it'd be yanmega

i like it better than black one except for the male avatar which is exactly why i chose the female. I like the larger pokedex featuring pokemon from other regions, even though i still like 5th gen a lot. Although I'm just getting a hang for the story, I like it. If you haven't played a fifth gen game yet I'd recommend 2 over 1.

but i like how b/w 1 only had 5th gen pokemon. It let you attach to the pokemon of the new series so you could have more appreciation for them. Some of my favorite pokemon are from gen 5.

I'm also going to complete the pokedex. Like, THE WHOLE POKEDEX. The first time I've "completed it" was when I obtained all the pokemon in the D/P regional dex. Which was really fun for me. I'm hoping some guys on the board will help me out, but I think I can tackle most of it.

The Global Trade helps out a WHOLE lot.

That's fine. I'm more than happy to help you out. I'd like to complete the dex so I can get that Shiny Haxorus on that island. I've got two Master Balls and soon I'll have a Synchronize guy to make it Adamant (or maybe Jolly). I'll keep reseting until I get it with the right nature and at least Max IVs in Attack and Speed... Maybe HP too if I feel like it.

completeing the dex also gets you a key item that makes shiny pokemon WAAYYY more likely to appear.
