Just wondering if anyone would be able to give me a good team suggestion for running through Emerald, don't need to know move sets and stuff, just a list of 6 that are not too hard to get, and what HM's to use on who. Much appreciated.

Blaziken - helps you with the normal type gym and a strong fire type
Azumarill - A good water type, use surf on it (you might want to get a backup water type to use as an HM slave for waterfall/dive etc). Can train it up easily in team Magma's hideout; mine was level 80 by the time I took on the E4.
Mightyena - a good dark type to get early on, helps to beat the twin gym leaders. Teach it rock smash.
Electrode - fast and fairly strong, a good electric type to use and you can teach it flash if you use it.
Crobat - fast and strong and can poison things. Teach it fly.
The last one I'll leave up to you, get your favourite pokemon.
