They are really just for show. the only difference is the color (der) and the background is lit up when checking its status. other than that, its likely the nature wont stack up since the majority of wild pokemon dont anyway

I ran into a shiny Tentacruel on FireRed and caught it, and I've found a shiny Dratini in the Safari Zone but of course it immediately fled :/

I had good luck with a Safari shiny. Fucking Rhyhorn caught in one shot.

Probably the easiest way to get one is just soft resetting when you're about to choose your starter. my favorite starter of all time was treeco since hes a badass grass sweeper. i attempted to get a shiny one, but after 30 resets later i just said fuck it. lol

And what's soft resetting?

Basically a much faster way to reset the game. Hold L and R then press start and select at the same time. I found out by mistake at the age of 10 when i thought mashing buttons would help catch pokemon easier. I was pissed.

And yeah that sounds awful haha. I'd always throw a fit if I had been playing for a while then I would drop my gameboy and it would freeze. That was the worst

then it would make that annoying "EEEERRRRRNNNNAAAAARRRRRAAAAA" noise...oh my god i hated that.
