Yeah I did, but I didn't really get the pick a random pokemon part, do you mean like the pokemon that you have caught up until the first gym you pick one of those?, like say I pick Treecko out of the 4 I have, then I battle on showdown with my rival?

Yes.. the random pokemon means one in your team but it has to be one you are willing to lose if you do lose you 'rival' battle

in your team or box* I have heard of similar things to this.. one tactic is to send in your useless boxed pokemon to keep your team strong

Ahh ok, I get this now. So have you decided on what game to do? Emerald or Firered is fine with me, I would prefer FR because I've Locked Emerald twice recently, but it doesn't really matter.

how can i recruit people any more than you are? Just by spamming the board? I can't make people do this.
