Well, Magcargo was the first pokemon I fully trained (EV's. in emulator but yea). I never liked it or its prevolution before.
But after I catched him in LG I found out that even if a surf can take him down, before other types he is a monster Sp Attacker/Defense (For me).

Well, lets see... their only weakness is Fighting, they are immune to Ghost-type moves, plus the only three types a Normal move cannot hit are Ghost, Steel, and Rock, and most Normal types have wide movepools that let them learn moves to be able to hit those types.
Ursaring, for example, has fantastic stats and an Ability that lets it overcome its base 55 Speed, and it has access to Close Combat, one of the best Fighting moves out there.
Another example of a pure Normal type is Blissey, who lands itself in OU, and so does its prevo, Chansey. 'Nuff said.
And yet another example is Smeargle. Even though its stats are pure shit, it has the widest movepool of any Pokemon.
