depends on my moods, last week it was Classic Rock, this week it's Black Metal. I try to mix it up so I don't get bored if I get stuck with Guitar Theory.

That sucks man. Pawn shops (if you have any where you live) have really nice guitars for real cheap.

Try and practice alternative picking as much as you can. I don't know what kind of music you like to play. I play metal most of the time. Just try and learn scales and understanding music. Also learn sweeping as fast as possible. If you play metal.

Do you have any idea about what kind of electric guitar you want to get?

I started off with a cheap peavey fender. Then moved on too a red axe. After going through three guitars I found the right one for me. I have an Ibanez RG-42 BK. It cost about 671 american dollars. I'm very pleased. It has a light and slim shape so it's easy to shred on and stuff. I suggest either Ibanez or ESP for metal music.

Had in mind a Gibson SG, Ibanez Iceman, or a flying V. But they're all pretty pricy.

Just sit down with the guitar and figure things out. Learn how to read tab/notation (optional), and learn some songs . Progress to slightly harder songs, and try to learn some scales, modes, and even some music theory on the side of all of that.

Always wanted to learn the bass!

It's pretty easy, if you've got good rhythm. I taught myself how to play both, even read music. I've got too much time on my hands.

I really want to. Not enough money/time to learn.

If you eve get the chance, go for it. It's extremely fun.

Either. Acoustic is much cheaper to start out with though.
