Could you guys help me out? I'm trying to figure out why people like dubstep so much. I tried finding some myself, but Skrillex doesn't even sound like dubstep to me and the rest sounds like Megatrong having a seizure. Could you link me to some good songs?

the thing is the skrillex is dubstep but not dubstep, it has sometimes the time sequence, but the bass is sometimes so electro dont know, if you want dubstep skrillex is not your best example. Ive listened to quite some dubstep and can say liquid dubstep is by far the best. The soothing bass and that random mesmerizing melody just makes me ears go wild. after that you might get slowly into liquid dnb, which is in one word: wow!. Listen to mr suicidesheep or 17tumba music,
my favorites:
bulb - tenderness
subscape - apple candy
everything from blackmil
good headphones or nice sub would just do the trick. Download song, open itunes, press control + t, listen to the bass and makes your eyes and ear go wild my friend.
Enjoy

Yeah, I'm starting to come to that conclusion as well. Half of the stuff I keep finding sounds shitty, the otehr half sounds nice but is ruined by some moron repeating a dumb phrase or just going "ooooOOOoooh"every 2 seconds.

I think you can devide the people who like the heavy dubstep you're referring to into two groups. One group is actually into electronic music and the heavy bass that might come along with it . And the other group are acting so hard they like it, that after a while they'll actually start believing it themselves.
People who are into electronic music will soon notice that skrillex and all those other heavy-dubstep producers keep on releasing the same fucking song. They just change the name, and put in a voice-sample that says "Bangerang" in stead of "Yes OMG".
fyi this is also dubstep: [url deleted]
