Most of my favorites were said, but I think the guy from the Who was massivelt underrated. When you back and actually listen for the bass parts they're nothing short of awesome.

(Sorry, couldn't help myself.....you knew someone was gonna say it.)

Anyway.....I joke, but you can't go wrong with a lot of the old greats: Cliff, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Flea, and so on. One that I do think is underrated as hell is Queen's John Deacon; though Freddie and Brian tend to get a lot more of the spotlight, Deacon's given us some of the most memorable bass lines I can think of ("Breakthru" and "We Are The Champions" stand out).
