(Sorry, couldn't help myself.....you knew someone was gonna say it.)
Anyway.....I joke, but you can't go wrong with a lot of the old greats: Cliff, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Flea, and so on. One that I do think is underrated as hell is Queen's John Deacon; though Freddie and Brian tend to get a lot more of the spotlight, Deacon's given us some of the most memorable bass lines I can think of ("Breakthru" and "We Are The Champions" stand out).
