I tried to give deadmau5 a shot. I've been hearing good things and I'm down for listening to anything new.

Couldn't make it past two tracks before I called it quits. Those were seriously some terrible... terrible sounds that I plan on never suffering through again.

Deadmau5 isn't that bad for popular music, he layers quite well, if he tends towards more simplistic synths. His old stuff that is, I haven't listened to much of his after he became pseudo-dubstep.
