He's probably using an inactive controller and his friend or someone is using the actual controller which controls mario. Good try though. You had a lot of people guessing.

I have the GCN, the GBA, and the GB Player for GCN. It is impossible to see the game on the GBA screen, it only says "Game Boy Player."
