KimonoDragon (10/14/2011) [-] Actually, Hosni Mubarak was very heavily supported by the United States during his rule, up until the last minute when he was overthrown in February. When the revolution finally happened, the U.S. government and media spoke favorably of the victory for democracy, as if trying to pretend they had done nothing and that Mubarak was always their enemy.

I liked most of it except for when he stated "our knowledge has made us cynical". Knowledge is beautiful and vital for the advancement of society, and cynicism stops us from being mindless sheep.
