I thought it was because the moth, being nocturnal, aims for the darkest place it can find which appears behind the light source. It's trying to get out of the light and into the dark it thinks is behind it

Hm...a possible correlation to religion here?

One true way and everyone seems to be searching for it but often get caught up in the wrong religion and never look past that "light" in front of them to find the true religion(the moon)
