This does bring up a valid point though. Why are atheists so depressed? It seems that everyone I have met has a generally sad demeanor.

That's because while we may not have anything to turn to when we're sad, we're smart enough to realize there's not a floating guy in the sky.

Not butthurt, just saying.

What should you do if you find a Christian?
"Hey, I believe in things and get up early on Sundays!"
Christians such as Mr. Lamb think they've got it all figured out...
...But then why do they always have their heads up their asses?
If you find a Christian in your neighborhood, tell a parent or fedoran right away!
You may be moved to help remove the heads out of the asses of these poor, confused mucks yourself, however
AVOID TALKING TO THEM!!!
Christians are often self righteous and stingy and will even lash out at children who are having fun or even convince them to believe in God!
Very advanced reasoning techniques are needed for these mucks.
Let the adults handle them.

I'm an atheist, I don't think that there is any higher being anywhere. But still, I don't walk around and try to look like a better person or act like I got it all figured out. I don't care what you believe in, as long as it makes you happy and fulfills you, fine by me. Just don't try and preach about how I will go to hell and all this **** . As long as you're cool, I'm too, no problem.
Hell, I'm currently writing a fantasy story where religion is a huge factor to the plot.
Just sayan.

Atheist here. So even though I found this hilarious I just want to point out that the percentage of people that I know that are both atheists and assholes is roughly the same percentage of people that I know who are just assholes. Whether we are stupid enough or not to believe in god or not doesn't make us an asshole. You can tell I'm an asshole.

“The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality of happiness, and by no means a necessity of life.”

Reminds me of the most supremely awkward situation I've been in.
I made a friend in primary school, when I identified as Christian but didn't really know what it was about. Later on in highschool, we were still friends but I was no longer religious. His little ten year old cousin found out, and started trying to convert me.
I wasn't annoyed or anything, but I didn't really like any of my choices from that point. As far as I could see, I could either give her my reasons or concede my point. I didn't want to give her my reasons because her family was religious and I didn't want to be seen as trying to lead her astray, but I also wasn't comfortable giving up my viewpoint so easily.
In the end I promised her I'd listen to some choir music and try praying a little.
