nice! here in wisconsin its impractical to have a DH bike, but I'm taking a trip to BC, Canada with my parents this weekend so i'm going to go to one of the bike parks while I'm there and rent a bike. For now I just have my XC bike for the trails and a dirt jumper for park. Do you have an Idea of your parts list for your scott?

ohhhh yea, i have a pretty good idea what i want, for basic stuff like the chain guide, i am getting a CSixx Carbon chain guide, BOS Idylle air front forks, Sun MTX39 rims (i have the old double track 39mm wide rims on my free ride Droessiger, pinch flat the tires a lot, sturdy as hell! but a bit heavy) those rims i'll use for random cruising with a set of Conti Diesels (cheap tires, but good road/dirt hybrids) and i am looking into carbon fiber wheels for the actual downhill, they are also supposedly sturdy but pricey. chances are i might get 2 sets of the MTX 39. for the crank and rear derailleur and brakes i am keeping my mond open, the SAINT cranks and gearworks look sweet, but i also like SRAM X0. and for downhill tires i am getting some 26x2.6 Michelins. long list lots of planning.

I'd be careful with carbon wheels. Make sure to read reveiws. Michelin is supposed to be coming out with some fantastic rubbers sometime soon, cnat go wrong with sun hoops, And saint cranks kick ass.

that looks really awesome, I wish I could get into that more.
I once rode a downhill track (I suppose you could call it that, I'm not too known with the technical terms!) in Austria. I had no idea what I was doing. In fact, I'm surprised I survived it. But damn it was awesome.

Downhill track, lines, everyone has a name for it, i rarley go to parks (because of lack of time, dont feel like paying, or going way out of my way for a rush) i always kinda walk up a huge hillside, scope out and kinda carve my own track and tear it up. takes a few tries and crashes before i nail it. but it's always a blast. this pic was in Spain and it was a power line/hiking trail type thing. with a very fast straight bit, tricky chicane to an intense steep downhill bit and a turn or up hill straight (depending on speed)

It is expensive, i bought budget gear (not CHEAP but not expensive) the geqar was like 250-300 but the bike i use now i bought USED for 900 with 150 euro in new/extra bits, and i just bought a new frame that ran me 2100 euro....mind you i still have to buy other bits to build the bike.

What's that? Oh sorry, I couldn't hear you over the 20-30 mph winds from my typical biking speed because I have ******* gears you ******* pleb.

As an engineer, I bike because it's one of the most efficient means of travel within 5 to 10 miles, or 15 if traffic is bad.
