i hate the labels people post on themselves. like african american, or hispanic american, asian american. stuff like that. because i believe if you were born in america, you are just an american, period. you personally did not come from any other place but america. Italian immigrant? cool. youre an italian american. black person born in detroit? you were not born in africa, so youre just an american. I think this is one reason racism still exists, because of these labels making people see others as different from themselves, just by labels. ***This does not apply to native americans, cause, y' know. they were here first.

I feel the same way. I kept referring to the people in my class as black and my teacher was like "You mean African-American," so I told her if I have to call them African-American then they have to call me Irish-American
